Find the right pair of poles for you at Alpinstore. Sold in pairs, they're more than just an accessory: they give you greater stability and balance on the slopes. Follow our advice to find your ideal pair!
Poles are made up of 4 parts:
First, the handle, for maximum comfort when holding the pole. You'll find two models: those with a 4-finger grip, and those with 3 fingers + index finger, for smaller hands.
The wrist strap is the strap that goes around your wrist, helping you to keep the stick correctly in place during your movements and, above all, to avoid losing it on the slopes.
The pole tube is made of different materials, carbon or aluminum. Aluminum makes for a sturdy tube, while carbon is lighter, but less resistant. Depending on your preferences, choose a single-strand or telescopic tube, and adjust the height of the tube to your height.
At the very bottom is the tip: This is the part that will plant the pole in the snow, helping you to move forward on flat terrain. The tip can also help you enter bends.
Alpinstore offers you a selection of brands of ski touring poles from Black Diamond, Leki, Skitrab, Dynafit, Komperdell, Rossignol.
Poles are there to improve your sporting performance.
We advise you to turn the pole upside down, and put your hand under the puck (as the part under the puck will be planted in the snow, you don't need to count this part). The hollow of your elbow should ideally make an angle of 90°, if the angle is too wide (>90°) then take a stick size above, and if the angle is too narrow (>90°) then take a stick size below.
If you haven't had a chance to try out the poles, we've provided a table of sizes for skiers:
