A helmeted child is a protected child

Alpinstore offers a wide range of ski helmets specially designed for children. We believe it's important to protect children when falls are frequent. As adults increasingly adopt ski helmets, it's all the more important for children to wear one, as they are often the ones most affected by falls/shocks.

Even if, as you know, ski helmets don't totally protect against injury, they do prevent some. So why let your child ski without a helmet? Alpinstore invites you to read on to find out.

Wearing a helmet for children is becoming an absolute necessity

Although there is no obligation to wear a helmet, it is strongly recommended for adults and children alike. As equipment evolves from year to year, it becomes more and more powerful, contributing to more violent falls. That's why a ski helmet is essential.

Putting a ski helmet on your child is a matter of course. Whether with or without a visor, all are ultra-protective and incredibly comfortable. Here are the advantages of wearing a ski helmet:

- Protection : protect your little one's head in the event of a fall or impact

- Safety : reduce impact-related injuries

- Comfort : keeps your child's head warm and dry, even in inclement weather

- Adaptable to all: Whether your child wears glasses or not, Alpinstore has helmets to suit all tastes and needs.

The different models of children's ski helmets

There are two distinct types of ski helmet on the market today. Over the past few winters, visor helmets have become increasingly popular, and can be found everywhere on the slopes. That's why it's been adapted for children.

Children's peaked helmets :

This is a "two-in-one" system, since the visor that replaces the mask is integrated directly into the helmet. It's very easy to use, because all you have to do is put on your helmet and you're fully equipped. The visor, meanwhile, is easy to handle, even for the smallest riders.

Visor helmets can come with soft ears, different shields, a chin tightening system and various ventilation systems. The choice is yours!

For this category of helmets, check out Bollé, Cairn, Julbo or Rossignol children's ski helmets . Your little ones will be fully protected, while looking trendy on the slopes.

Classic children's helmets :

This is a classic helmet with the same technical features as a visor helmet, but without the "two-in-one" system. Once the helmet is on your child's head, it will be necessary to add eye protection such as a ski mask or sunglasses.

The classic ski helmet has soft ears, a rigid shell, a tightening system under the chin for a perfect fit even in the event of a fall, and ventilation of varying degrees. The choice is yours!

The helmet Pocito Auric Cut helmet by Poc is a good example of a helmet with a high level of ventilation.

For this category of helmets, visit Bollé, Cairn, Cébé, Giro, Julbo, Poc, Rossignol or Scott. Your little ones will be safe and stylish in front of their ski instructor.

The different visor categories

Since the visor replaces the mask, it has the same characteristics as a ski mask. In fact, the screens can be different, since a category is associated with the intensity of luminosity.

- Category 1: glass with a light tint, perfect for very low-light days (fog, for example).

- Category 2 glass with an intermediate tint, ideal for cloudy weather.

- Category 3 dark tinted lenses for good vision on sunny days. Let's take the example of Electron visor from Cairn.

- Category 4 glass with a very dark tint, often used on glaciers or at high altitudes.
